The Journey to Financial Independence
en

Cesta-Investora.cz

Investing is not a sprint. It's a long journey.

I write primarily about how I think about investing, financial independence, and building long-term wealth. At the same time, this website is first and foremost a place for myself — a way to organize my thoughts, document the decisions I have made, and come back to them with the benefit of hindsight.

Over time, I will inevitably change my mind about some of them. Some will turn out to be right, while others will prove to be mistakes. And that is precisely why I don't want this website to show only the successes. Investing is also about mistakes, bad decisions, emotions, risk, and patience.

On Cesta investora, I mainly focus on:

  • long-term investing and ETFs
  • financial independence and FIRE
  • financial planning and emergency funds
  • investment risk and diversification
  • my own experiences, decisions, successes, and mistakes

I try to describe things as I genuinely see them — without promises of getting rich quickly and without pretending that there is one right formula for successful investing. We all have different financial situations, different goals, different attitudes toward risk, and different opportunities. What worked for me may not work for you.

If one of my experiences helps you make a better decision, avoid one of my mistakes, or simply makes you think more carefully about your own investing, then this website has served its purpose.

The English version of Cesta Investora is a new project.

The original articles on this website are published in Czech, and I am gradually translating and adapting them for English-speaking readers. As a result, the English section currently contains only a selection of articles, with more content being added over time.

My goal is to gradually build a useful resource focused on long-term investing, ETFs, financial independence, and personal investing experience.

Thank you for visiting, and I hope you enjoy the journey.

A new article, this time with a slightly more inspirational focus, is now available 👉 Ronald Read: How an Ordinary Man Built a Million-Dollar Portfolio.

It is an extraordinary story of an ordinary man that I believe is well worth your attention and has personally taught me a lot.

The article ended up being a little longer than I originally intended, but in this case, I don't think that's a bad thing. Quite the opposite – Ronald Read's story contains so much interesting inspiration that it would be a shame to just scratch the surface.

My next work on the project will focus more on the technical side. I would like to improve the blog and, above all, make it easier to navigate. There is already quite a lot of content and quite a few articles here, and I am starting to notice that some older articles are gradually being forgotten because readers have no easy way to discover them through related topics. That is something I would like to work on.

And what comes next? One of the next topics I am considering is a standalone article about compound interest. I also already have an article about black swans in the works, which I think could become very relevant quite soon. And gradually, I would also like to focus more on ETFs – for example, Vanguard LifeStrategy ETFs seem like a very interesting option for making investing even simpler.

Unfortunately, there is still plenty of work to do on the blog, but there is only so much time available. I am therefore also starting to think about how to make some activities more efficient, automate them, or perhaps get some help with them. Nothing is urgent for now – I am simply looking for a way to keep moving the project forward in the long term without it taking up more and more of my time.
